Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #15

I was in charge of this week's challenge.  My points were:
1. Use the pagemap layout (single or double, your choice).
2. Do not use flowers, but another embellishment instead.
3. Use chipboard/grungeboard.
4. Use paint somewhere on the LO.

Here's the LO:
I am currently working on this challenge.  I will post pics as soon as I complete it.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #14

Wynn's challenge was for us was to create a 1 or 2 page LO about someone or something that inspires you.  Include journaling or distressing.

This challenge is currently being worked on.  I will post pics once this challenge has been completed.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #13

AnnMarie brought the challenge this week…
"Since it’s my birthday week, I am all about birthday cards.
Make 4 birthday cards with the following themes:
1)      A child
2)      A male
3)      A friend
4)      Something with Red!"

Again, this challenge came in quite handy for me.  Some of the cards were for birthdays, but 2 were for other occasions.

Card for a child: used “Simply Sweet” for this baby card ~ my cousin just had a baby boy.  The white paper is a glitter paper and I used an older border punch on it.

Card for a male: used “Lite: Dude” cut and a stamp for this one, also used my Irock for the brad looking embellishments in the corner.

Card for a friend: another cousin was getting married this weekend and this is the card for them.  I used my Irock again for the gems on this one and a set of wooden letters from AnnMa.

Something Red: a birthday card with some red ribbon and paper.  I also used a mix of stamps (MS, and 2 other brands I can't remember their names) with CTMH holiday red ink.  Yes, the patterned paper is the same as on the wedding card.  Too pretty not to use again and again. :)

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #12

Natalie brings us the challenge this week:
a 12x12 layout (doesn't have to be a double page)
MONOCHROMATIC (eek. do you know what that means? basically, use one color and one color only. as in, the SHADES of the one color)
use a border punch or border feature from a cartridge
use a SIMPLE, NO-LAYER cut from a cartridge (star, heart, circle, etc)
use a non traditional fiber, embellishment, accent (eg: lace, fabric, canvas, burlap)
JOURNALING :-)
I am currently working on this challenge and will post pics once completed.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #11

Our challenge is from Jenn P this week! She says:
1.  1)Make a two page LO using the map below (of course you can make it your own.
2.  2)Use one of these words in the title: Explore, Discover, Adventure, Play, Believe, About
3.  3)Use scrap paper to embellish (i.e. left over scraps to make borders, flowers, etc.)
4.  4)Include ribbon.

I am currently working on this challenge and will post pics when finished.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #10

Jenn W. brought us the challenge for Week #10.  Here are her requirements:
Create a layout about your family with the following:
1.  Your title can only be one word that best describes your family
2.  Must use a metal embellishment other than a brad
3. Must have at least one stamped image

This is a challenge I am currently working on and will post pics once finished.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #9

I was in charge of the challenge for this week.  I had a pagemaps layout, and the other requirements were to use your most recent cartridge and a color you don't normally use.

Jenn W and I realized that this was heavy on pics, 10 to be exact!  So we decided to scrap our Top 10.  These are the top 10 celebreties that we have "crushes" on.  My newest cart is the Lite Cart: Celebrate With a Flourish and I cut "True Love" in teal and purple.  I don't use purple or teal very often so those were the main colors on this LO.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #8

Wynn brought us the challenge the week after the retreat.
She says:
“I am always looking for new ideas to incorporate into my crafting and magazines are a great resource. So, from each picture, take inspiration. Create a card based on each picture.”
So here are the pictures that Wynn inspired us with and next are my versions.
I took inspiration from the colors of the watering cans:

I loved the quilt idea, so I made a quilt out of handmade papers:

I loved the clean lines and contrast with the white, green and black of the chairs so I used those colors in my card:
Luckily, all three of these cards came in very handy that week!

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #7

AnnMarie’s challenge for the week of the retreat was to make 2 gift bags with matching tags.  I kept these simple, but will probably go back later and clutter them up. J

I used Just Because Cards for the ice cream sundae and Celebrations for the sentiment.  I think I will go back and add some stickles for just a bit of bling.

Up to this challenge I was completely caught up.  :)  I am getting caught up, I promise!  LOL!

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #6

Natalie provided CCWC#6.
Here were her rules:
1.  Create a double 12X12 Layout
2.  Scrap about a vacation or trip (Taken or upcoming. If upcoming, leave places to put pics)
3.  Include chipboard
4.  Include journaling (Nat’s favorite!)
5.  Include sewing, faux stitching, or journaling (Apparently, there was some “miscommunication” here, but who’s keeping track.  ;-)

So I decided to scrap the ride on the gondola from our Steamboat trip.  This paper I found in that wonderful scrapbook store in Waxahachie. It says "RIDE" up the lefthand side. My chipboard is actually grungeboard, but works just fine and the "flags" read "to the top".  The stitching was a silver marker and a template (again received in a swap last year).

I have ordered the pics but haven’t made it in yet, so I’ll update these pics once they’re in.
