Pink Challenge

I’ve been a little behind on posting to my blog, but I have been keeping busy.  School has started back and we are nose deep in scouts, taekwondo, and 4th grade.  We’ve been keeping our Wednesday night scrapping nights as much as possible; I just haven’t taken any pics to proof it.  I reorganized the craft room, so it’s now the Scrap Room.  I am still getting used to the new layout of the room, still trying to figure out where everything is and all.  I think I will really like it once the newness wears off.  With the reorganization, I’ve been able to do a little more than just Wednesdays.  I was able to get a few hours in there yesterday and today and get some projects done.  Very therapeutic.

So one of the blogs I’ve been visiting has a weekly challenge (and surprisingly this project counts towards a couple of other challenges on other blogs).  October is Breast Cancer Month, and to kick it off, her challenge is to make a card and use PINK.  So here is my contribution to the challenge.  I used a premade card blank, and then made flowers from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  Those were made with Colonial White cardstock and inked with Sorbet.  I used a nestabilities oval die cut and used the Bliss stamp set with Sorbet for the sentiment.  The ribbon is from when I first started scrapbooking (no telling where it came from) but it’s like little doilies with adhesive already on it and it was also inked in Sorbet.  I inked all my edges with Sorbet.  I “frosted” the flowers and the oval with Diamond Dust (from Hobby Lobby).

So here are the challenges this cute little card was entered into

Crafts and Me - Flowers
4craftychicks - Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes
Joyful Stamper - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Fairy Fridays - Pink and Distressed
Southern Girls Challenge - Anything Goes

So, I've entered my little pink card into these challenges.  With so many wonderful submissions, it's looking like tough competion.  Good luck to all the entries!

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #15

I was in charge of this week's challenge.  My points were:
1. Use the pagemap layout (single or double, your choice).
2. Do not use flowers, but another embellishment instead.
3. Use chipboard/grungeboard.
4. Use paint somewhere on the LO.

Here's the LO:
I am currently working on this challenge.  I will post pics as soon as I complete it.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #14

Wynn's challenge was for us was to create a 1 or 2 page LO about someone or something that inspires you.  Include journaling or distressing.

This challenge is currently being worked on.  I will post pics once this challenge has been completed.

Crafty Chick's Weekly Challenge #13

AnnMarie brought the challenge this week…
"Since it’s my birthday week, I am all about birthday cards.
Make 4 birthday cards with the following themes:
1)      A child
2)      A male
3)      A friend
4)      Something with Red!"

Again, this challenge came in quite handy for me.  Some of the cards were for birthdays, but 2 were for other occasions.

Card for a child: used “Simply Sweet” for this baby card ~ my cousin just had a baby boy.  The white paper is a glitter paper and I used an older border punch on it.

Card for a male: used “Lite: Dude” cut and a stamp for this one, also used my Irock for the brad looking embellishments in the corner.

Card for a friend: another cousin was getting married this weekend and this is the card for them.  I used my Irock again for the gems on this one and a set of wooden letters from AnnMa.

Something Red: a birthday card with some red ribbon and paper.  I also used a mix of stamps (MS, and 2 other brands I can't remember their names) with CTMH holiday red ink.  Yes, the patterned paper is the same as on the wedding card.  Too pretty not to use again and again. :)

Natalie brings us the challenge this week:
a 12x12 layout (doesn't have to be a double page)
MONOCHROMATIC (eek. do you know what that means? basically, use one color and one color only. as in, the SHADES of the one color)
use a border punch or border feature from a cartridge
use a SIMPLE, NO-LAYER cut from a cartridge (star, heart, circle, etc)
use a non traditional fiber, embellishment, accent (eg: lace, fabric, canvas, burlap)
JOURNALING :-)
I am currently working on this challenge and will post pics once completed.
